AMG Completes AMG Aluminum Integration AMG完成AMG Aluminum的整合
AMG Advanced Metallurgical Group N.V., Wayne,
Pa., announces that it has completed the consolidation of its global aluminum operations into one centralized unit, AMG Aluminum, consisting of AMG Aluminum North America, LLC (formerly KB Alloys, LLC), AMG Aluminum U.K. Ltd. (formerly part of London and Scandinavian Metallurgical Co. Limited), and the aluminum activities of LSM Brasil S.A. “Te full integration of AMG Aluminum into one unit
will allow us to provide our extensive product line and seamless customer service to the global aluminum industry,” said Julien Crisnaire, president, AMG Aluminum. AMG produces highly engineered specialty metal prod-
ucts and advanced vacuum furnace systems for the global energy, aerospace, infrastructure and specialty metals and chemicals end markets.

GE to Acquire Lufkin Industries, Including Lufkin Foundry GE收购Lufkin工业，包括Lufkin铸造公司
GE, Houston, and Lufkin Industries Inc., Lufkin, Texas, U.S.,
have announced a joint agreement whereby GE will acquire Lufkin for approximately $3.3 billion. Included in the acquisi- tion is the Lufkin Foundry and Machine Company in Lufkin. It produces medium to large, low to medium volume ductile and gray iron castings for industries including valves, machine tools, renewable energy, oil and gas, waste water treatment, pumps and compressors, as well as construction equipment, agriculture and special machinery. Lufkin Industries Inc. provides artificial lift technologies for the oil and gas industry and is a manufacturer of industrial gears. Artificial lift, used in 94% of the roughly 1 million oil-producing wells around the world, helps lift hydrocarbons to the surface in reservoirs with low pressure and improves the efficiency of natu- rally flowing wells. Tis acquisition broadens GE Oil & Gas ar- tificial lift capabilities beyond electric submersible pumps (ESPs) to include rod lift, gas lift, plunger lift, hydraulic lift, progressive cavity pumps and well automation and production optimization controls and software. Te ESP category of artificial lift is the only lift segment in which Lufkin does not currently compete. “Advanced technologies, combined with new drilling prac-
tices, are revolutionizing the oil and gas industry,” said Daniel C. Heintzelman, president and CEO, GE Oil & Gas. “Te artificial lift segment is at the heart of critical changes that are helping producers maximize well potential, which translates into increased output at lower operational cost.” With approximately 4,500 employees in more than 40 coun-
tries, Lufkin posted record revenues of $1.3 billion in 2012, a 37% growth. New business bookings in 2012 grew 38% companywide to $1.3 billion year over year, driven by a 47% increase in its artifi- cial lift business. Te transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2013 subject to Lufkin shareholders’ approval, regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
