Israel, have completed a merger to form a 3D printing and direct digital manufacturing company valued at $3 billion. Te combined company, Stratasys Ltd., will offer: • FDM for functional prototypes and production parts. • Inkjet-based PolyJet for prototyping parts with high feature detail and fine surface finish.
• Solidscape drop-on-demand (DoD) thermoplastic inkjet technology, to create complex wax patterns for investment casting of finished parts. With more than 260 channel partners around the world,
Stratasys has global reach and a research and development team focused on developing new consumables and systems. “Stratasys is now uniquely positioned to offer a comprehen-
sive portfolio of innovative products and technologies, and we have the scale, team and financial strength to achieve our goals,” said David Reis. Formerly CEO of Objet, Reis has assumed the role of CEO for Stratasys. Erez Simha, former COO and CFO, Objet, is COO and CFO for Stratasys. Scott Crump, co- founder and former CEO of Stratasys Inc., is full-time executive chairman of the board. Elchanan Jaglom, formerly chairman of Objet, is the full-time chairman of the executive committee.

U.K.’s MRT Castings Expands Assembly Services 英国的MRT铸造公司扩大组装服务
Diecasting business MRT Castings, Andover, Hampshire,
England, has doubled the size of its assembly facility to meeting growing demand, following its acquisition of a new extractor robot for its largest pressure diecasting cell. Te new equipment complements its robot-controlled ladle and die spray, completely automating the aluminium casting cell. MRT offers a single-source solution for zinc and aluminium
casting, CNC machining and finishing, and complete product assembly. In recent years, the company has taken on increasingly complex turnkey manufacturing projects for clients. Electro-me- chanical assembly has become one of the fastest growing areas of the business with MRT assembling, packaging and shipping products on behalf of its clients. “We are moving further up the supply chain, doing all the
engineering design, manufacturing and stock holding for our customers. Tey know outsourcing all the engineering design and manufacturing work to us means they can concentrate on design concepts and marketing,” said managing director Phil Rawnson. Large projects include the manufacture and assembly of high
specification designer lighting fittings for luxury homes and hotels. Other assembly projects include casting, finishing and as- sembling a range of pumps for shower wet rooms used by people with disabilities. MRT is constructing pressure-tight electronic enclosures combining machined diecastings and extruded alu- minium components. MRT has 65 years’ experience and is accredited to the ISO9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 standards.
