Work Time and Tensile Strength of Furan Resin Sand

total acid content of the curing agent, curing agent addition, ambient temperature, ambient humidity, the resin amount, permeability, and sand quality (including granularity, ash, acid consumption value, moisture content, etc.). Te main factors affecting the tensile strength are the amount of resin, ambient temperature and humidity, resin properties, sand grain size, the amount of curing agent, sand quality, and per- meability. Because many factors affect work time and tensile strength of molding sand, controlling sand quality can be a problem in metalcasting facilities. A type of nitrogen furan resin produced by a chemical plant was selected to explore the relationship of work time and tensile strength of molding sand and these factors. Researchers sought out the main factors to provide guid- ance for metalcasting production.

• SHY vane core sand mixer. • XQY-II intelligent sand strength tester. • SSZ vibration-swing sand sifter. • LRHS-250-II-type constant temperature and humid- ity device.


• Temperature and humidity meter. • Standard specimen core box. • Electronic scales and thermometers.


Raw materials:


• Regenerated furan resin sand: reclaimed sand, proper- ties: ignition loss ≤ 3.5%, acid consumption value ≤ 5.0%, residue ≥ 75%.


• Nitrogen furan resin: standard sand tensile strength after 24 h ≥ 1.6 mPa, viscosity about 20 mPa (25C), free form- aldehyde ≤ 0.3%.


• High acid value curing agent (total acid content: 31% to 34%, density: 1.1 to 1.2 g / cm3


); low acid curing agent (total acid content: 6% to 8%, density: 0.9 ~ 1.0 g/cm3 ).

呋喃树脂砂最重要的使用质量指标是型砂的可使用时 间和抗拉强度。可使用时间的影响因素主要有砂温、固 化剂总酸度、固化剂加入量、环境温度、环境湿度、树 脂加入量、型砂质量(包括粒度、灰分、酸耗值、含水 量等)、透气性等[2-3]。抗拉强度的影响因素主要有 树脂加入量、环境温度、环境湿度、树脂性能、型砂粒 度、固化剂加入量、型砂质量、透气性等[4-6]。由于影 响型砂可使用时间及抗拉强度的因素很多, 如何稳定控 制型砂的使用质量, 一直是困扰铸造工厂的难题。 本试验选用某化工厂生产的中氮呋喃树脂, 探讨型砂 各影响因素与可使用时间和抗拉强度的函数关系及其影 响大小, 得出影响呋喃树脂砂可使用时间和抗拉强度几 个最主要的影响因素, 为铸造工厂生产提供理论指导依 据。


1试验内容


1.1主要设备及原料 设备: SHY叶片式芯砂混砂机、XQY-Ⅱ智能型砂强度 机、SSZ震摆式筛砂机、LRHS-250-Ⅱ型恒温恒湿仪、 恒温恒湿实验室、温湿度测定仪、标准8字芯盒、电子 秤、温度计。


原料: (1)呋喃树脂再生砂: 天然硅砂再生砂, 各 项性能指标为: 灼减量≤3.5%, 酸耗值≤5.0%, 残留量 ≥75%; (2)中氮呋喃树脂: 标准砂24 h抗拉强度≥1.6
